You’d be hard-pressed to find Common-speaking person who hasn’t heard one of the many legends surrounding the Stonereach clan. “Legend”, though, is a bit of a misnomer; the Stonereach have had a decisive hand in just about every major battle as far back as dwarven records date. Known for producing skilled artisans and warriors, as well as rumored ties with the divine, having a Stonereach on your side was long considered an omen of good fortune for other races.
Unfortunately, good fortune only stretches so far. Like with so many others, the armies of Bane made quick work of the clan, despite their formidable resistance. These days, you’d be lucky to find someone bold enough to call himself by such a title – knowing full well of the clan’s history, Bane’s followers have taken great care to squash any possible threat they present. Luckily, Fargrim is such a dwarf.
Refusing to cast off his family’s name just for a silly thing like “self-preservation”, the aged invoker has taken it upon himself to be a nuisance to Bane and his priests whenever possible. He had hoped that, through rebellion (and with a bit of divine luck), he’d be able to rally his lost clansmen. No such thing occurred though, and Fargrim was eventually captured and is now being transported to a place whose name he wasn’t told. The old dwarf smiles on, however, confident that it’s only a matter of patience, and it will soon be revealed to him the path he must take to bring glory back to the Stonereach name.
